Exploring the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the English Classroom

On 28 April 2026, Mr. Y.T. Leung hosted a Learning Circle on “Developing Students’ Self-directed Learning Capabilities: Exploring the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the English Classroom (Secondary Level)”. The event welcomed 18 guests, including secondary English teachers, officers from the English Language Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, EDB, and lecturers from the Centre for Applied English Studies, HKU. 

The morning started with a presentation on the collaborative culture, teaching philosophy, and application of AI and SDL strategies in the English Department, followed by a lesson observation to demonstrate such actionable and scalable practices in an English classroom. In the subsequent debriefing session, an insightful and reflective discussion was held, and credit was given to our English teachers who have actively participated in sharing good ideas to improve learning and teaching at Raimondi College.
